Slovakia is famous for its hospitality, beautiful nature and folk culture. But most of all, Slovakia is famous for its unique mountains – High Tatras and Low Tatras. And here, at the foot of the Low Tatras, on the upper reaches of the river Hron and close to a picturesque fish pond is located the hotel “Golden Fish”.

The hotel is surrounded in the north by the ridge of Low Tatras 120 km long. The National Park Low Tatras is a real paradise not only for tourism but also for winter sports – skiing (cross-country and down hill), skialpinism and extreme skiing.
The National Park Muránska Plain surrounds the hotel from the south. This National park is interested for its unique flora, the limestone karst formations and rich history.

Beside tourism, cycling tourism and picking of mushrooms, you can also visit here the ruins of castle “Muránsky hrad” and a horse farm. An attentive visitor can meet here some rare and wild game like bear, wolf, lynx, eagle or many others. The hollow of Horehronie is closed at the east by another range of mountains – National Park Slovak Paradise with a plenty of caves, abysses, gorges and waterfalls. The cave Dobšinská Ice Cave is one of the most popular in this area.
